The Nokia Certified Optical Network Design Expert is an intermediate-level certification emphasizing optical network design.
It is designed for intermediate—to senior-level engineers who desire advanced knowledge and experience designing Wavelength Division Multiplexing WDM networks based on the Nokia 1830 Photonic Service Switch (PSS) using the 1830 Engineering and Planning Tool (EPT).
In addition, you'll demonstrate proficiency in system engineering, network optimization, site optimization, node architectures, Optical Transport Network (OTN), Generalized Multiprotocol Label Switching (GMPLS), availability and survivability (protection and restoration), and advanced requirements like latency and encryption.

How to certify
To become an Optical Network Design Expert, you must pass two multiple-choice exams through Pearson VUE and one practical lab exam from Nokia.
You must complete all the mandatory multiple-choice exams before you can challenge the lab exam.

We also offer a self-study certification bundle that includes everything you need. Training is not required to attempt the exams.
