Empowering Telco operator convergence through a common marketplace

The incredible increase of the Web applications market is threatening the world of Telco operators, which are more and more challenged by Internet pure players and device manufacturers. Their legacy playground is narrowing as the Web is expanding. To curb this trend, Telco operators have to find original and innovative solutions to keep their place in the overall ecosystem. To achieve this, SERVERY CELTIC Project proposes a set of solutions based on the convergence of Telco and Web services (IMS, Web), services enriched with an intuitive marketplace with ontology-based publication and discovery, personal execution environment to simplify the use of the services. As the community of 'active users' grows, services developed by end users should be to taken into account and SERVERY provides a natural language service composition tool, as well as possibilities to deploy more complex services in a managed hosting environment. Finally, SERVERY proposes two important elements: a business framework allowing monetizing services and a set of basic Telco services users can rely on. All these elements provide a trusted operational framework for the emergence of new managed communities of services in Web and Telco infrastructures.
