Engineering Considerations for a Paging Subsystem in a Large Mainframe UNIX(R) Environment
12 December 1989
Many system engineering parameters must be considered when designing systems to execute a given workload. This paper examines tradeoffs between the number of systems, the amount of real memory on the systems, and the composition of a paging subsystem for each system. The intent is to develop the least cost environment that can effectively execute a given workload.
