Enhanced Multi-User Eigen Channel Selection for MIMO Downlink Transmissions

In this paper, we propose an enhanced multiuser eigen channel selection (E-MES) scheme for multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) downlink transmissions based on sequential projection and zero-forming (ZF) algorithm. Instead of pre-defined eigen channel selection solution in existing works, a successive optimal eigen channel selection is executed in E-MES scheme to guarantee the selected eigen channel offers largest contribution to the sum-rate performance. Theoretical analysis and numerical simulation results demonstrate the E-MES scheme is capable of significantly outperforming existing solutions in terms of system sum-rate.
