Entraide networks combined with link systems

A link system with entraide is one in which some outlets from a given switching stage are connected to inlets of the same stage or of a preceding stage. If no direct path is available from inlet to the desired outlet, it permits a path to be found through usable inlets and outlets in another matrix of that stage. A practical example is given of such a stage with its geometric arrangement and the path hunting rules as well as the equations for dimensioning such networks. The calculations were checked using a roulette model of simulating traffic and this confirmed the practicability of the calculations.
