Evolution of Intelligence in Switched Networks (9-7)

With the introduction of ISDN, Signalling System No. 7, and Intelligent Network capabilities in switches and other network entities, such as data bases, many opportunities have emerged for telephone Administrations to promote new telecommunications services. This paper addresses how telephone Administrations' existing public switched networks can be evolved to create opportunities for Intelligent Networks and services. Key challenges relating to deployment, architecture, and customer support of Intelligent Networks and services will be covered.
