Evolution to ISDN

Advances in digital switching and transmissions, and the ongoing efforts of CCITT to standardize ISDN interfaces and services, have led too a growing acceptance of ISDN worldwide. This paper will discuss the underlying technology of ISDN, illustrate some features and benefits of ISDN, and explore methods for evolving present public networks into an ISDN.
