Experience with UNICOS on a Cray

Bell Labs in Murray Hill, NJ, USA has a Cray XMP24 that is running both COS and UNICOS, Cray's Unix system. We have built an interface to connect the Cray with our Datakit network. I shall describe our experience with the hardware and the software, and what the future is likely to bring. In summary, the machine is quite usable as Unix machine, but site must pay attention to swapping, file systems, and networking.
