Experimental assessment of transmission reaches of PDM-QPSK, PDM-8QAM and PDM-16QAM at 28-GBaud using Nyquist-pulse-shaping for ULH transmissions

We study experimentally the performance of PDM-QPSK, PDM-8QAM and PDM-16QAM for ultra-long-haul transmissions. We compare their noise sensitivity, nonlinear tolerance and transmission reach of the three modulation formats. In addition, we study the performance of the channels depending on the channel spacing.
