Experimental Demonstration of 44-Gb/s Coherent Optical OFDM with Trellis-Coded 32-QAM

: We report generation and detection of a 44-Gb/s coherent optical OFDM signal with trellis-coded 32-QAM modulation, showing receiver sensitivity improvements of 3.4 and 5.0 dB, respectively, at BER of 10-3 and 10-4 over uncoded 16-QAM.
