Experimental evaluation on SOA cascadability for optical packet switched networks

We implement experimentally for the first time a large cascade of semiconductor optical amplifiers. We evaluate performances of QPSK, 8- and 16-QAM signals and assess design rules for an optical packet-switched SOA-based network.
