Experimental Verification of MTMR System Capacity in a Controlled Propagation Environment
19 July 2001
Recent breakthroughs in the application of information theory have shown great capacity increase by deploying multiple transmitting and multiple receiving (MTMR) antennas as compared to conventional single antenna systems. This work presents an experimental verification of the theoretical capacity prediction. The propagation study was performed in a controlled free space environment. The near field capacity was measured and modeled. The measurement results match very well with the theory.
