Tungsten-bronze type Na sub (13) Nb sub (35) O sub (94) is predicted, on the basis of previously determined atomic coordinates, to be ferroelectric with a transition temperature of about 340K to a hypothetical paraelectric phase. Calorimetric, dilatometric and dielectric measurements indicate a gradual transition that is complete by about 320K. The dielectric loss at 10 kHz is very low at 0.0035. Crystals as large as 2 cm in diameter and 5 cm in length along the c-axis have been grown.
