Field Trial of High Resolution Multi-Dimensional Fiber Sensing over Multicore Fiber with Construction Work Localization using Advanced MIMO-DAS

We demonstrate successful field trial of MIMO-DAS over multicore fiber allowing for accurate localization of acoustic events in the city of L'Aquila, Italy. With a 2 m spatial resolution and broad 1 mHz-380 Hz mechanical bandwidth, we show detection and localization of construction over deployed MCF.
