Filter-shape dependence on attenuation mechanisms in channelized dynamic spectral equalizers

We study the channel filter characteristics in free-space based dynamic spectral equalizers as a function of the active device loss mechanism. Both liquid crystal modulators and tilting micro-mirrors are investigated. The device technology choice is shown to significantly affect the channel filter characteristic.
