Flexible WDM/TDM coherent PON for converged metro-access solution

We propose a novel 10 Gbit/s per wavelength symmetric WDM/TDM PON architecture. Coherent detection and digital off-line processing allows long-reach transmission over 100-km single-mode fiber with high optical budget beyond 33 dB while low cost direct modulation and detection ONU is used.
