The Mirage III in a single-water single-engined fighter-interceptor aircraft. The simulator for it is equipped with artificial airborne radar and guided missiles. The interior of the simulator cockpit is an exact replica of that of the real aircraft, the instructor can simulate same 120 different faults including some that would be dangerous in actual flying. The cost of operating the simulator is less than a fifth of the cost of flying. The simulator uses more than a thousand transistors and fifty servomechanisms. There are six basic electrical circuits: a transistor amplifier, a switching amplifier, a 400 c/s modulator, a differentiator, a demodulator, and a low frequency random noise generator.
