Free-space optics communication systems: First results from a pilot field-trial in the surrounding area of Milan, Italy

A multiple FSO field-trial has been deployed in the surrounding area of Milan, Italy. After a brief description of the setup we focus our attention on the factors impacting system availability. In particular, we will investigate the effect of visibility and turbulence.
