Full non-Orthogonal Integration of Unicast and Single Cell Broadcast using Quasi-HM

This paper proposes a new integration scheme for unicast and single cell broadcast in future OFDM system. It is shown that today's research results of the integration of unicast and broadcast in SFN manner cannot work in case of single cell deployment because there is an Eb/N0-BER performance gap between the two integrated streams. By adjusting the constellation map of today's integration system, the proposed scheme, called as quasi-HM, removes the performance gap between the two streams and provides a similar QoS performance for them. System level performances are also investigated in this paper, which shows that the proposed scheme works well and has 40% gain against SFN integration scheme. Performances for single cell broadcast without integration to unicast are shown for comparison.
