G. E. Schindler, Jr., was appointed editor of the Bell System Technical Journal, effective January 1, 1961. Mr. Schindler studied chemical engineering at the Carnegie Institute of Technology, received the bachelor of science degree from the University of Chicago, and received the master of arts degree in English literature and languages from the University of Pittsburgh. After additional graduate work at the University of Chicago, Mr. Schindler joined Bell Telephone Laboratories in 1953. He was editor of the Bell Laboratories Record from 1957 to 1959, and most recently was with ihe Public Relations department of the A. T. & T. Co.
