Gelation of colloidal silica.
01 January 1986
Classical light scattering studies of colloidal silica gels show that they have a fractal structure for length scales shorter than a concentration dependent crossover length xi, and behave like a collection of randomly distributed scattering centers for length scales greater than xi. Our data show that xi has a very strong power law concentration dependence, xi proportional to c(-2.44+-0.20).
