Generalized rate equations and modulation characteristics of coupled-cavity semiconductor lasers.

A set of generalized rate equations has been obtained to study static and dynamic characteristics of a single-mode coupled- cavity laser. It is used to study mode discrimination and modulation response of a semiconductor laser coupled to a GRINROD cavity. The model presented here is also applicable to a C3 (cleaved-coupled-cavity) laser.
