Much work has been recently done on the generation and display of fractal curves and surfaces. However, little work has been done on the generation of 3D fractal volumes. In this report, we discuss techniques which utilize the octree data structure of generate a class of 3D fractal volumes with the property that their surface area tends toward infinity while their volume tends toward zero as the number of levels of recursion increases. It is found that the octree data structure permits a very simple specification of these objects but generates objects which are topologically complex.
