Giant Defect - Enhanced Electron - Phonon Interactions in YBa2Cu3O687 and YBa2Cu3O65.

Recent single-domain diffraction data show that the superlattice formula (YBa sub 2 Cu sub 3 O sub 7 ) sub 8 O sup [], corresponding to 103 atoms/cell, describes material with superconductive transition temperature T sub c = 93K. The O sup [] ordering produces alternating metallic chains and semiconductive chain segments, in agreement with predictions of my earlier theoretical model, which is here extended and made more quantitative.
