Green Network Technologies
30 January 2012
The main goal of EARTH project is to reduce the power consumption of cellular networks by 50%. This document is an intermediate report on energy efficiency improvements expected from green network technologies studied by WP3. These technologies include deployment strategies, network management concepts, radio resource management techniques and some proposal future architectures that are inherently designed to be energy efficient. These results can contribute a lot to achieve the ultimate goal of 50% energy consumption reduction on system level and will be exploited in WP6 to build an "Integrated Solution".
