GRIS Line and Continuum Results from SN1987A
01 May 1989
We will present results on Sn1987A from two balloon flights of GRIS from Alice Springs, Australis. Preliminary line fluxes are: day 433 1238 KeV 1.1 +- 0.2 x 10 sup -3 ph/cm sup 2 -sec, day 613 1238 KeV 2.6 +- 0.9 x 10 sup -4, and 847 KeV 5.8 +- 1.2 x 10 sup -4. Uncertainties are statistical only. Preliminary analysis shows the lines to be wider than models predict and do not show any blue shift corrected for the LMC red shift. The continuum (50-800 KeV) from the first flight is consistent with comptonized scattering of the sup 56 Co decay lines and preliminary analysis of the second flight shows similar results with a reduced flux level.
