Growth of Epitaxial YbBa sub 2 Cu sub 3 O sub 7 Superconductor by Liquid-Gas-Solidification Processing.
01 January 1988
Superconductive films of YbBa sub 2 Cu sub 3 O sub 7 have been epitaxially grown on SrTiO sub 3 substrate by a novel liquid-gas-solidification process. A layer of metallic YbBa sub 2 Cu sub 3 melt was coated on the substrate and in situ oxidized. The oxide films grown on SrTiO sub 3 (100) substrate are epitaxially oriented in structure with the c-axis normal to the plane film. Values of T sub c (R=O) of 90K with a transition width of 2K have been achieved. The critical current density J sub c is typically 3X10 sup 4 A/cm sup 2 at 70K and 50K respectively.
