This information has been extracted from a number of studies conducted by AT&T Bell Laboratories and other sources within the telecommunications industry, and addresses the subject of lasers used in Lightwave (optical fiber) communications systems. This information is intended to be useful for contractors and other utilities working around Lightwave cables, and addresses the consequence of inadvertent exposure to laser emission from a severed Lightguide cable.
