Heating of radio-frequency cables

A theory of the heating is presented. The electrical problem of losses in the cable is considered, and then the thermal problem. Calculations are made of the heat generated on the inner conductor, the outer conductor, and in the dielectric. A practical numerical example is given. A correction for axial heat flow in the dielectric is considered.
