HetNet performance analysis from the eICIC parameters perspective
27 October 2016
Increasing the throughput per user while providing load balance are the main challenges in Heterogeneous Networks (HetNet) deployments. This paper focuses on influence of the two main concepts introduced by enhanced Inter Cell Interference Coordination (eICIC): Cell Range Extension (CRE) and Almost Blank Subframe (ABS) in multi tier HetNet architectures. Based on probabilistic models that characterize the users association with each tier we conduct simulations in order to have solid conclusions regarding the throughput per user inside a two tiers HetNet. We also draw conclusions regarding the joint influence of the CRE and ABS on throughput per user parameter.
