Hg sub (1-x) Cd sub x Te/Hg sub (1-x) Zn sub x Te superlattices with constant Hg content have been grown by molecular beam epitaxy for x between 0.23 and 0.4. The use of a constant Hg content lowers the driving force for interdiffusion compared to Hg sub (1-x) Cd sub x Te/CdTe structures. Films grown at 180C show x-ray satellite peaks to fourteenth order. An annealing study conducted between 185C and 225C shows enhanced stability compared to HgTe/CdTe superlattices.
