Hierarchical Lazy Caching

This paper explores the application of lazy caching (1) to hierarchical cache architectures such as that suggested in (12). Lazy caching enforces a weaker definition of consistency than commonly required. This results in an efficient protocol for hierarchical systems which has the performance of the more complex protocols which have been suggested, but is easier to implement.
