High Performance Variable Optical Attenuator Multiplexer Filter (VMUX)

We report progress on improving performance of fully integrated variable optical attenuator multiplexers (VMUXs) with reduced size and power consumption. 

We show substantial performance improvements, notable very low loss and PDL, and the realization of extremely compact designs in high delta silica-on-silicon. ÆÉ2004 Optical Society of America OCIS codes: (060.2330) Fiber optics communications.
