High Resolution Soft X-Ray Spectroscopies and Their Applications

06 April 1989

New Image

Many novel observations have been obtained in atomic, molecular and condensed matter care-level experiments using a newly constructed soft x-ray synchrotron radiation beamline. The K-shell absorption structure of the nitrogen molecule as well as the L sub 2,3 edge core-excition of tonic crystals are utilized to exemplify the capability og high resolution soft x-ray spectroscopies. Possible applications in material and biophysical research are addressed, and examples are given.
