This review gives the more important features of the Hongkong-Canton toll telephone cable, which was opened for traffic on Sept. 1, 1931. The cable consists of 10 quads of 1.6-mm. wire. It has a total length of 116 miles and works without repeater stations. All circuits are fully loaded. Some of the special features which had to be adopted in laying the cable, owing to the peculiar nature of the country traversed, are briefly set out.
