HS: A Hierarchical Search Package for CAD Data Version 1.0

Designers of complex chips often resort to a hierarchical decomposition methodology [Katz85] to keep the complexity of their designs humanly manageable. To assist in the management process, they partition design tasks into modular components. The complex circuit is decomposed to form a design hierarchy where each node represents a component in the complex circuit, and the component is described in progressively greater detail along the hierarchy.
