Hybrid silicon-based tunable laser with integrated reflectivity-tunable mirror

We propose a novel hybrid silicon-based laser with integrated variable reflectivity mirror. The single-ring laser is tunable over 10 nm with high SMSR. The adjustment of the mirror reflectivity allows to control lasers characteristics such as the threshold current, wall-plug efficiency and the output power.
