Impact of Pulse Shapes on the Performance of PDM-QPSK Coherent Transmission Systems

The impact of pulse shapes on the performance of PDM-QPSK coherent transmission systems is discussed. We show that time-interleaved RZ can significantly increase the tolerance of PDM-QPSK coherent systems to fiber nonlinearities and tight filtering.
