Impact of science and technology on the black community.
01 January 1984
Advances in science and technology have provided the foundation for the enormous growth and industrialization of America. The resulting unprecedented prosperity of the American society over the past three decades has been disproportionately dispersed to the various economic, cultural, and ethnic groups. Nevertheless, advancing technology has almost universally continued to elevate the standard of living of all groups of this multi-cultural society. Black Americans as individual participants have aided in the propulsion of technological advancement through contribution in agriculture and food science, steam and electrical power generation, communications, manufacturing, medicine and health care, and transportation. Technology in turn has produced specific and general impacts on the black community.
