Network Function Virtualization (NFV) is a new paradigm of virtualizing the services provided by the telecom and cloud operators. NFV is one of the hottest research areas in the field of computer networking.

Given one or more service deployed on the virtual machines, the goal is to find a solution which minimize the power consumption and at the same time enforce service level agreement.

The solution should be application agnostic and should not conflict with the existing techniques like consolidation, placement, etc. This will enable NFV service providers offer energy efficiency as a service.
