Inelastic helium scattering from the Ag(001) and Ag(001)c(2x2)C1 surfaces.

Inelastic He scattering has shown significant promise as a high resolution measure of the vibrational spectra of surfaces. The technique is experimentally demanding, however, and only one laboratory has been successful to date in obtaining high quality data, and then only at relatively low frequencies. We have carried out exploratory experiments to assess the efficacy of this technique.
