Information networks refer to networks capable of transporting analog and digital signals. These signals may be voice, analog or digital data, video signals, etc. This seminar covers the fundamentals of data communications and provides a comprehensive coverage of the issues of design, architecture and protocols in information networks. Methods of design of backbone and access, the ISO seven-layer model for Open System Interconnection and the Integrated services Digital Network (ISDN) will be described.
