Introduction and Detection of Cluster Ions in a Fourier Transform Mass Spectrometer

Cluster ions have been introduced into the trapped ion cell of a Fourier mass spectrometer. In addition to studying bimolecular chemical reactions, the superior performance over a time-of-flight mass spectrometer in the area of mass accuracy and resolution enhances the ability to identify the detected cluster ions.
