Iterative Soft Multi-User Detection for MIMO MC-CDMA Systems

In this paper, an iterative soft multi-user detection (MUD) algorithm is proposed for multipleinput multiple-output multi- carrier code-division multiple access (MIMO MC-CDMA) systems. First, the MIMO MC-CDMA system is converted to an equivalent MIMO system. Based on this system, an efficient soft MUD algorithm is then derived by central limit theorem, the property of complex Gaussian distribution and some fast matrix computation formulas. By iteratively using the soft MUD algorithm with some updated probability information, we obtain the proposed iterative soft MUD algorithm. Finally, it is shown that the algorithm achieves near optimal performance with very efficient computation.
