Jitter testing for gigabit serial communication transceivers

Due to test time limitations, a thorough jitter analysis of every transceiver used for Fiber Channel, Ethernet, SONET, and etc. is often economically impractical in volume production. The authors introduced a low cost jitter test concept using cable equivalent filters in conjunction with external loopback or "Golden" device testing.
