Weblogging for knowledge management (KM), often called logging or k-logging, has emerged within many organizations as an inexpensive alternative to large scale KM solutions. Library and information services (LIS) organizations can position themselves to support and influence these types of KM activities within their information ecology. The main advantage of the LIS organization's involvement in KM is experienced through the increased findability of knowledge assets and decreased time and effort to discover existing corporate knowledge. These savings of time and effort indirectly affect your organization's bottom line. Here are some suggestions for positioning your LIS organization to have an impact on k-logging.
