Laser Devices for CATV Applications

The cable television industry is being transformed by lasers which can transmit analog signals with satisfactory noise and distortion. This talk will describe the design, testing, and use of laser diodes in CATV systems, concentrating on 1.3micron distributed feedback lasers in multichannel AM video systems.
