Linear Filtering versus ML-based Detection for Smart Antennas in OFDM under Interference Limited Scenarios
01 January 2002
Our goal in this contribution is to address the problems of signal recovery in smart antenna OFDM systems, by suitably adopting, developing, and studying techniques belonging to the above two general classes. The anticipated high penetration of high data-rate WLAN systems for indoor environments makes OFDM systems increasingly important for wireless transmission. Smart antennas for such systems are currently emerging as an extra capacity booster, however their application in such environments is far from mature. We will formulate related research topics, our main target being the demanding (yet realistic) asynchronous interference scenario. In this sense, this contribution continues our proposals presented in [10,11].
