Load Pull Improves MMIC Power Amplifier Yield (Novel Calibration Technique Eliminates Need for Specialized Calibration Standards)

As part of a MIMIC phase 1 team, AT&T Bell Labs is processing a variety of microwave circuits. One such circuit is a C-Band High Power Amplifier. The amplifier is a General Electric design that has been transferred to AT&T Bell Labs for processing. A major goal of this program is the demonstration of technology transfers between the team members. General Electric supplied the original Calma GDS II layouts and circuit simulations. Our goal was to fabricate an amplifier that met or exceeded all of the specifications.
