Location tracking in mobile networks: a scheme and an analysis framework

A location management scheme integrating local anchoring, replication and forwarding pointer techniques is proposed. A novel modelling framework based on the concept of trip is described. Results reveal that the proposed scheme results in a smaller tracking cost than several other existing schemes.
